The Provisional World Parliament (PWP) is a provisional World Legislative body operating under the Authority of Article 19 of the Constitution for the Federation of the Earth that provides a platform for global governance, debates and passes World Legislative Acts building a new peaceful, just, and equitable world order within the shell of the old-world order. The Provisional World Parliament Sessions are organized by World Constitution and Parliament Association and is an independent world body created by citizens of the world, whose decisions create genuine world law.

The Provisional World Parliament (PWP) was formed in 1982 under the authority of Article 19 of the Constitution for the Federation of Earth.

Founded in 1977, with the adoption of the World Constitution, by the representatiaves of 25 countries, the World Parliament aims to create a sustainable and just world. World Parliament advocates and implements global governance that reflects the will of the people, ensuring every voice is heard.

History of the World Parliament

Provisional World Parliament (PWP) held its first session that year at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, England with some 125 participants from countries around the globe and presided over by Sir Chaudhry Mohammad Zafarullah Khan, former Foreign Minister of Pakistan and former President of the UN General Assembly.

Second session was held at Delhi in 1985, which was inaugurated by HE Giani Zail Singh, the then President of India and was presided over by HE Mr. Balram Jakhar, Hon. Speaker of Lok Sabha (Lower house of Indian Parliament)

The Vision of the World Governance has the following components

World Federation

Sri Aurobindo, in his message to the world on Aug 15, 1947 had said World Union is his dream and had desired that India will play an important role in this unification process.

World Constitution

The Constitution for the Federation of Earth was written through the combined effort and input of hundreds of world citizens, including many international legal experts over a period of 23 years (from 1968 to 1991). Sponsored by the World Constitution and Parliament Association (WCPA), the painstaking process of drafting and revising the Earth Constitution resulted in a historic document and holistic solution for the progress of humanity.

Global governance is a necessity, the world has become a global village, With evolution of human civilisation, technology and human consciousness. Every living being on this planet has a stake in the planetary welfare which can only be administered through a World Parliament. 
Citizens of the world, currently from 109 countries are part of this process and still expanding.

Composition of World Parliament

Art.5.2 defines the composition of the World Parliament Structure as under:

House of Nations

The House of Peoples, represents the people of Earth directly and equally, through World Districts.
World Federation is represented by Delegates from 1000 (One thousand) World Districts.

House of People

The House of Nations, to represent the nations which are joined together in the Federation of Earth.

House of Counsellors with particular functions to represent the highest good and best interests of humanity as a whole.

House of Councellors

World Federation Initiatives

Engaging citizens globally to promote democratic representation and peaceful governance through our world federation initiatives like World Federation Movement of connecting with the countries of the world, World Districts, represented by the democratically elected global citizens and promoting and implementing World Constitution.

Sustainable Development Goals

Supporting implementation of sustainable practices as envisioned under Art. 7.3 of the Constitution for the Federation of the Earth and policies through international cooperation for a better future.
